Scott practiced at Farris as a labour and business litigator, before joining Davis (now DLA Piper), where he played a key role in growing the firm into one of Canada’s leading national practices. At DLA Piper, he served as Chairs of both the Employment & Labour Group and the Government Relations Group, utilizing his recognized expertise in administrative law, executive employment, shareholder remedies, and high-stakes negotiations. Trained at Harvard Law School in Advanced Negotiation and Mediation programs—where he was also retained as an instructor—Scott combines advanced skills in conflict resolution with a strategic business mindset.
Scott has acted as business counsel to many of British Columbia’s leading corporations on regulatory, labour, employment, and commercial legal matters. He played a leading role in major venture transactions, including heading a national legal team for Harman International’s acquisition of QNX Software Systems.
Scott joined Beadle Raven LLP, a business law boutique, providing strategic, low-cost general counsel to growth-stage companies. He subsequently practiced on his own, serving as general counsel for two emerging major ventures in the tech and pharmaceutical development sectors.
